YOUR FATHER KNOWS
08th May 2024
Two scriptures are speaking very loudly to me today -
Matthew 6:8 says, “Your Father knows what you need before you ask him.”
Isaiah 65:24 says, “Before they call I will answer; while they are still speaking I will hear.”
Our Father God knows everything about us and wants to help us in every aspect of life. He has your future, past and present in His hands. His desire is to bless you, help you, support you, provide for you; in the big decisions of life, and also in what might seem insignificant, smaller aspects. He wants you to live in peace all the time and for you to trust that He goes ahead of you, and well as being with you every day.
Last week Charles, my husband, had a hip replacement and was in hospital in Bristol for a few days. A couple of days before the op. he had to have a pre-assessment and give blood etc. He went in about 10am and found it almost impossible to park, the car park was crowded, and it took time to find a space.
I delivered Charles to the hospital on the operation day at 7am, and dropped him without a problem, few cars in the car park. After the op. I was allowed to visit, so about 2:30pm, I approached a very full car park and remembered the difficulties Charles had experienced earlier!
To my surprise the guy operating the car park barrier indicated I should lower my window, then came over and asked whether I was a patient or a visitor. I told him my husband had had the op. and I was able to visit him on the ward. He told me he would find me a space to park and I was given a prime position opposite the main door of the hospital. “Stay as long as you like” was the cheerful greeting. Each time I visited, he helped me. He found spaces for me when in the natural it looked impossible! I realised that I was seeing the scripture acting out in this situation, “Before I called God has provided.”
After a successful op. I was able to collect Charles and as I reflected on the parking incident and viewed the crammed car parks, I was thankful for a loving, caring heavenly Father who had gone before me and made such a practical provision. Thank you for those who prayed.
I love David’ confession in Psalm 23, “Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”
