GRACE

I wonder what the word ‘Grace’ means to you? Does it symbolise and sum up all that Jesus accomplished on Calvary? Is it a technical word that uses the letters G R A C E to explain ‘God’s Riches At Christ’s Expense’? Or is it a word that encompasses all that God has made available and longs to give us because of His great love?
Many years ago, I was complaining to Father God about clothing shortages. The children were all shooting up, and shoes were having to be changed regularly; they were expensive, and I was having a ‘pity-party’. The Holy Spirit spoke a verse into my mind from Romans 8:32, which says, “He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?” This released faith and settled me down.
More recently, I was praying and telling Father God about situations I was finding hard to adapt to, and again a scripture from 2 Corinthians 12:9 came strongly to my mind: “My grace is sufficient for you; my strength is made perfect in weakness”.
In the Message, it reads, “My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness.”
Whatever life is throwing at you, God has abundant resources to give to you in your situation. We need to be receivers of all He is willing to give, letting Him show us His ability, His strength, His wisdom, His complete store of resources, whatever our need. ‘Grace’ describes limitless love and care, everything we will ever need in every area of life.
How foolish to struggle with our own resources when ‘Grace’ is available. Ask God to show you afresh His saving grace, but also the abundant resources freely available when you ask for His ‘Grace’.
I have experienced ‘Grace’ in many areas of life, but there is always more to receive and benefit from. I am seeking to be a constant ‘Grace receiver’ and see God work in many new ways. How about you?
