IT'S TODAY
26th Aug 2026
How do you live? Do you live in the past, hoping to relive some of the good times you have experienced? Do you live in the future, waiting for some change in your circumstances to improve your situation?
Psalm 118:24 says, “This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” We cannot live our yesterdays or our tomorrows, but we can live today with God’s blessing on our lives and with His help and resources. So let us rejoice today in all the good things God has given us in the past, in His health and strength we have today, and in His blessing on the days ahead.
Hebrews 13:8 says, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” He is unchangeable, and power, healing, and victory are available today. So reach out to Him for your needs and receive all that you need for today.
Hebrews 3:15 says, “Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did in the rebellion.” When we receive a rebuke from the Lord, and we know we have displeased Him, we need to be quick to repent, because His forgiveness and restoration is immediate. It says in 2 Corinthians 7:10, “Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret.”
In Ephesians 4:26 it says, “Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.” Joyce and I have made it a principle of our lives not to go to sleep with an unresolved conflict. In our early days of marriage, we did let this happen on occasions, and by the morning the offence had grown horns! So, we soon learned to live by this scripture daily.
So here are four principles to live by today: Rejoice, Receive, Repent and Restore your relationship.
