FAITH ACTION
08th Oct 2025
The Faith Food message for October 5th is about a book written by a Welshman, W. R. Thomas, whom God called to go to Italy to evangelise and plant churches. He received a prophetic word in the 1930’s that he would leave his native Wales and relocate to Italy. He responded and obeyed, and many years later, we were invited to speak in several of these churches where his children were then in leadership.
As I read this, I was so impressed by the faith and obedience of this man. God had spoken, he responded with faith and action, and the result has been many lives transformed by God’s power.
That is a clear principle of God’s dealings with His people. God speaks, we obey, and then we witness His power at work in our lives, in the places He leads us, and in the actions He prompts us to take.
Abraham was told, “Leave your country, your people and your father’s household and go to the land I will show you.” (Genesis 12:1) He obeyed, went, and became the father of many nations, as well as of all those who have faith.
I clearly remember God calling Joyce and me, along with our five children, to leave Cornwall and relocate to Sussex to join the ministry led by Colin Urquhart. It was challenging and required a great deal of effort, but it was the most creative thing that ever happened to us. It served as the launching pad for everything we have done in the years that followed.
It doesn't necessarily mean physically moving, but it does mean listening to God’s voice and obeying His words. I was talking to a friend yesterday who has gone through a serious trauma in his family. He said, “What we are learning is to listen carefully to God’s guidance each day and respond to what He tells us. God is leading us on a journey to our healing, step by step.”
When Jesus called His disciples, He said, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.” There is a divine principle here - “Follow me, and I will make you…..” When we respond with faith and action, things will happen, and we will be changed.
I want to be responsive to what God is saying to me today.
