YOU CALL - GOD ANSWERS

Some enter a New Year with hope and expectation, others with dread and fear, wondering how they will survive. As I was pondering this, a verse flashed into mind, Psalm 50:15 which says, “Call upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you and you will honour me.” In the Message it says, “Call for help ... I’ll help you.”
Moaning about your situation simply enforces fear; rehearsing all the options or lack of them, again leaves you feeling helpless and trapped. So why don’t you “call” on the only One who can help?
The previous verse in Psalm 50 speaks of our attitude when we “call for help”; it is to be one of thanksgiving for previous help and deliverance. The Message tells us to “serve God a feast of kept promises”! I don’t know how God will deliver and help you, but I do know, “He is faithful to all his promises and loving toward all he has made.” (Psalm 145:13)
A recent newsletter from a missionary friend in Cambodia illustrates God's practical help and wisdom. The flooding was so intense, one rice crop had been ruined and new rice could not be planted as the existing equipment was incapable of working through the water levels. They called on God who gave wisdom in the form of technology used in paddle steamers in the 1850’s. They were able to plant, harvest and 1000’s of orphan children in their care, and reliant on that rice were fed.

In the same letter soured and broken relationships were healed following specific instructions to gather, pray in the Spirit and listen to what God said. Without human explanations the Spirit of God softened and healed hard hearts.
Jesus warned us that, “in the world trouble will come, but be of good cheer I have overcome the world!” His ability to provide and protect is greater than any natural or devil inspired disaster.
Trust Him, rehearse the deliverances of the past and call upon His supernatural resources and mercy for present situations - and rejoice when circumstances change!
