HIS WORDS MAKE THINGS HAPPEN

Our family were involved with many different aspects of Eagle Camp (a family camp we ran in the 90’s). Craig and Milena were responsible for a section of the children’s work and on this particular morning we were caring for Gillian our granddaughter, while they prepared.
She was quite unwell, running a temperature and coughing. I had prayed, but without seeing any improvements was about to make alternative arrangements when I bumped into Jonathan Conrathe, one of our speakers, who took one look at Gillian and asked her what was wrong. She told him, and he immediately said, “Let me pray for you?” Very few words were spoken but the result was instant. Gillian brightened and insisted I took her to her own Children’s group. An instant healing.
It says of Jesus in Luke 4:37, “Someone whose words makes things happen.” My words at that time didn’t, Jonathan’s did! He knew that as he spoke to the sickness attacking Gillian’s body, in the Name of Jesus, she would be free of symptoms and healed. He was certain of what he hoped for, I at that time just hoped.
However, it set me off on a godly desire to see my own words spoken at the command of Jesus result in healing and deliverance. I am still on the journey and I am never satisfied, I want to be like Jesus, knowing my authority, and expecting nothing less than “mountains to move!”
Words have the power of life and death (Proverbs 18:21), so be careful about your speech. It is so easy to be casual, and without thinking trap ourselves into negative expectations. So how about saying, “I am blessed” when you are asked “How are you?” It is so easy to be trapped into trotting out all the negatives.
Jesus came to establish and demonstrate the kingdom of God. Study His speech, often saying very little, but words spoken with the authority He knew He had been given achieved so much.
Right now, speak to every weakness, pain or lack and tell it to go in the Name of Jesus, and take hold of the abundant life He has promised you.
