WONDERFUL SAVIOUR
21st Dec 2022
I wonder if anyone of us knows how much God loves us, desires that we prosper, and wants to have a personal growing relationship with us?
A verse in Jeremiah sums this up. Chapter 31:20 in The Message, “Oh! Ephraim is my dear, dear son, my child in whom I take pleasure! Every time I mention his name, my heart bursts with longing for him! Everything in me cries out for him. Softly and tenderly I wait for him.”
The previous verses 18 & 19 talk of the time Ephraim was running loose, but God never lets go of him, and he, ashamed of his rebellion and disobedience wonders if he can ever live it down.
Put your name in the bracket ( ) and hear the heart of God towards you! Psalm 130:7 says, “Israel put your hope in the Lord for with him is unfailing love, and with him is full redemption.”
This Christmas time we celebrate the birth of Jesus, the Saviour of the world, God himself offering to be the means of redemption and reconciliation, so that once again God can be in a loving, intimate relationship with us.
The prodigal son couldn’t save himself, but he could turn back to the father he had rejected and run away from. He expected a stingy, mean reaction; perhaps a menial servant role and some food. But instead he experienced complete acceptance, salvation, welcome, restoration and celebration! The father was able to save his wayward son and restore him to right relationship and ongoing fellowship.
Celebrate the Saviour Jesus this Christmas and walk into next year knowing His love, acceptance and forgiveness. He desires to bless you, for you to grow in grace and in the knowledge of Him. May there be an increase of his government and peace in all who believe and follow Him.
