WHAT'S ON TOP?

When you wake up in the morning, what is uppermost in your mind? Is it the problems and challenges of the day ahead, or is it the ability of God to meet your need at every turn?
Psalm 138:2-3 says, “For you have exalted above all things your name and your word. When I called you answered me; you made me bold and stouthearted.”
Another verse in my daily readings a couple of days ago included these words, “Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; let your glory be over all the earth.” (Psalm 57:5) Those words have been incorporated into a worship song, and as I read them the melody came into my mind and I found myself singing the song as I began the day.
Are we using the power of the Name of Jesus to overcome the attacks of the enemy? Or, are we allowing fear and the enemy’s lies to rob us of peace and victory? Paul writes of Jesus, “Therefore God exalted him to the highest place and gave him a name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth.” (Philippians 2:9-10)
When we are battling over issues in our lives, do we let the problems we are facing dominate our thinking? Or, do we declare the word and the promises God has given to us over the situation, expecting to see victory.
We choose to begin our day by thanking God for his faithfulness, praising Him for all the blessings that He pours out on us daily, and setting the day in the context of His word and His promises, and exalting His Name above every device of the enemy.
There are times that answers come quickly, but it is important to keep our confidence in the words that we have received in the past. We were given 1 Peter 5:10 for our grandson Reuben regard the epileptic issues he faces. “And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast.” Even though there have been some challenging times recently, we hold onto that promise.
So the Name of Jesus and the Word of promise will be on top of my world today. How about you?
