WHAT I HAVE I GIVE YOU

What do you have? Peter looked at the crippled man and said, “Silver and gold I do not have but what I have I give you.” Jesus said, “I have food to eat that you know nothing about.” (John 4:31) Jesus also said, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you....” (Acts 1:8) and “Anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father.” (John 14:12)
We have just been celebrating Easter, and the life we have been given in Jesus is new resurrection life. The disciples had listened carefully to Jesus and knew that they were entering into a life of supernatural power, with the challenge to do greater things, to live with the expectation of miracles and resources beyond the natural. So only days after Pentecost, Peter and John are going up to the temple and they are presented with the opportunity to put this into practice.
Everybody was stunned to see this man walking, leaping and praising God. They wanted an explanation. Peter said, “Why do you stare at us as if by our own power or godliness we made this man walk?” (Acts 3:12) He went on to explain the reason for this miracle and that they should not have been surprised.
As believers we have been given not only forgiveness, but new supernatural life and power, and Jesus is expecting us to use it. It is not our power or godliness, but His power which is given as the Holy Spirit is poured out into our lives.
So what do I have? I have the life of Jesus, I have the power of the Holy Spirit, I have the living Word of God, I have the Name of Jesus, I have supernatural wisdom from the One who lives in me, and I have a mandate to do the work of Jesus.
So as I am confronted with impossible situations and say, “What I have I give you” - What do I have and what am I going to give?
