TOUCH MY HEART ANEW
18th Feb 2026
Just before Jesus ascended into heaven, He blessed the disciples and gave very clear instructions. He said in Luke 24:49: “I am going to send you what my Father has promised; but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”
He was referring to the presence and power of the Holy Spirit. I ask myself, Am I clothed with power from on high? Am I demonstrating God dwelling in me, seen, heard and in action?
I have been led by God’s Spirit in the past and have seen Him do wonderful, supernatural things, but what about today? I was singing a familiar song that includes the words, “Please touch my heart anew, as I’m reaching out to you.” I long to see God’s power and love transform the situations I encounter.
Death, sickness, pain, helplessness and sadness in all their forms. I know God wants us to be His hands and arms, bringing His resources to all situations. I am fully aware of His desire to comfort and heal, and I seek to be one who reaches out and is available to act as the Holy Spirit leads. But I often ask myself, Where is the power? Where are the miracles, the tangible evidence of the Spirit of God at work?
This leads me to ask the Holy Spirit to touch my heart afresh, to fill and keep filling me, to keep my ears attuned to His voice, to be bold, to let Him act through me, and to bring Him glory.
I know Father wants all of His followers to be full of His Spirit, full of love and faith, and doing the works of Jesus.
