STAND YOUR GROUND
14th Oct 2020
We are living in a time of shaking, with the escalation of the pandemic and other insecurities that surround us. It is at this time that we need to reaffirm our faith in God and learn to “Stand our Ground.”
Ephesians 6:13 says, “Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the evil day comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” Isaiah 7:9 states, “If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.”
We need to stand our ground when attacked by fear, with our eyes on Jesus, who is the Prince of Peace. Isaiah 43:1 declares, “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine.” It then continues to assure us that whatever is thrown at us will not overcome us.
Many of us are facing battles and challenges on many different fronts. Some of you already know that we are in a faith battle for our grandson Reuben, who has an epilepsy issue which he has been battling with for the past 7 years. Last week Joyce & I went to the Epilspsy Centre at Chalfont St.Peter to bring him back to our house, on his way back home to Cornwall, to be with the family for his birthday. It is a challenging situation and we need to “stand our ground” as we pray for him to become stable and to be healed.
We are praying for others who have healing needs and want to see breakthroughs. There are those whose jobs are insecure at this time and we again are praying for them for wisdom and direction.
The verse from Ephesians says, “Put on the full armour of God.” We need the shield of faith to extinguish the fiery darts of the evil one, we need the helmet of salvation to protect our minds from thoughts of fear and gloom, we need the sword of the Spirit, to declare and wield the promises of God.
Most of all - to pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayer.
Let me encourage you that whatever is happening in your life that you will - Stand your Ground.
