STAND!
21st May 2014
There are times when the only posture that seems right is to “Stand.” When we are waiting for someone special to arrive at our house, we stand at the window anticipating their arrival. When we are praying for someone about a particular urgent need, we stand beside them and probably lay our hands on them. There is something dynamic about getting to our feet and standing. There are issues in our lives where we have prayed all the prayers we know how to pray, it is now time to simply “Stand.”
It is so easy to become passive about the things we are praying for, it seems we have been waiting for too long. We can allow discouragement to rob us of faith and hope. We can let the whisperings of the enemy say, “God is not listening to you, your prayer will never be answered.”
Ephesians 6:13 it says, “Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” There are situations that may be very difficult, it is at these times when you do not need to try more praying, but to take hold of the promises in the Word and declare before God, “I have spoken to you about this situation, I have spoken Your Word and declared my position of faith. What I am doing now is simply to stand; I know God that you are faithful and you can do it.”
Galatians 5:1 says, “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” It is your birthright as a believer to life in freedom - free from fear, free from anxiety, free from condemnation, free from carrying burdens. It is time to stand and refuse to carry the yoke of slavery.
Isaiah 7:9 says, “If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all.”
Not more praying - more “standing.”
