A SONG IN THE MORNING
28th Oct 2020
For many years I have been in the habit of waking with a song in my heart which has been like a special word from heaven for the day ahead and the situation that I am facing. I listen for it in my spirit, and then sing it as the day commences.
At one of the Faith Camps many years ago, I was teaching this principle at the early morning prayer meeting, and praying for all present to receive this for themselves and to use it as a stimulus to their faith each day. A few weeks later we were taking a church weekend in London. One that particular Saturday there was a March for Jesus and as we were marching through Trafalgar Square a lady came to me out of the crowd and said, “You’re Charles Sibthorpe? Yes. You taught on a Song in the Morning at Faith Camp recently, I was there and received what you said. It has changed my life.”
At this present time we are being bombarded with information and statistics about all sorts of things. If we listen with our minds and emotions we can be gripped with fear and filled with foreboding. We need to listen to what God is saying with the ears of our spirit.
Isaiah 50:4 says, “The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.”
If you take this on board, you will discover that God speaks to you each day with words that are just what you need for your situation. We are finding ourselves singing songs that we have not thought about for years. Sometimes we can just remember one line, then Google comes to the rescue and we soon have all the words.
Recently we were really crying out to God for a challenging situation and received, “O love that will not let me go, I rest my weary soul in Thee, ……..” As we sang this amazing song and read the circumstances surrounding its composition, our faith was lifted and peace was restored.
Receive this revelation, listen for your song, sing it, it will change your life!
