SOLAR POWERED LIGHT
23rd Apr 2014
Some friends were telling us recently how they had put their solar powered lights into the garden; the evenings were getting lighter and there had been some good sunny weather, so it was an ideal time. This set me thinking about how necessary it is for our lives to be so filled with light from heaven that they can shine that light out to others in this very dark world in which we live.
So how then do we get this light into our lives? Psalm 119:130 says, “The entrance of your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” Are we receiving the light of God’s word into our lives on a daily basis? I have made it a practice for more than 30 years to read through the Bible every year. Many of you are using the Bible Plans that I have written which are also included in Faith Food. Don’t sell yourself short on the light of the Word.
In 1 John 1:7 it says, “But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.” This is the light that keeps our relationships healthy, it enables us to live in truth and forgiveness with our friends and family, and to enjoy the forgiveness that we have because of the blood of Jesus. Don’t let darkness spoil your fellowship with people and with Jesus.
2 Corinthians 4:6 says, For God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness, made his light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Christ.” Paul also speaks about us having open faces looking at the glory of God. God’s light is always shining, live in that light and not in the shadows of shame and condemnation.
Remember the song - “This little light of mine, I’m going to let it shine!”
Let God’s supernatural Solar Power keep your light shining every day.
