RESTORING CONNECTION
28th Mar 2018
“Was it the nails, O Saviour, that bound Thee to the tree?
Nay twas Thy endless love, thy love for me, for me” K. Kelly (1869-1942)
Love held Jesus to the Cross, Roman soldiers drove nails into His body to keep Him there, but in reality He could have extracted Himself at any time, calling on legions of angels to assist Him. He endured the Cross despising the shame - why? Love for you and me. Joy at the thought of restoring connection between His Father God and mankind.
Jesus, in John 17, expresses His great desire to see His followers experiencing the intimacy He had with His Father. He prayed, “Father let them know you, be one with you, see your glory, know your protection and loving care.”
John 17:26 says, “I have made you known to them and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and I myself will be in them.”
The cross is the way to restored personal relationship, ‘one to one’ fellowship with the Creator and Sustainer of the Universe. It’s mind blowing, awesome, priceless and to achieve this Jesus allowed Himself to be sacrificed.
Don’t waste this amazing grace. You have the possibility of a living relationship with the Godhead - not rule keeping religion, but living communion with the One who loves you and gave Himself to achieve this. His care for you is so personal. He is interested and wants to be involved with the little and large in our lives. Far reaching decisions and simple tasks. Calvary is not only an historic fact but an everyday reality, granting us access into the presence of God.
I am reminded of a meeting of the eldership of Bethany Fellowship, a forerunner of Kingdom Faith Ministries. A long list of many crucial topics was handed to each person who was to seek the Lord for His answers and wisdom. When they later gathered, each shared only what had been heard from heaven. The meeting was brief and decisive, as the Holy Spirit had revealed His will. It could have taken hours of discussion and deliberation.
Recently I asked the Holy Spirit to help me with a complicated knitting pattern. It involved a lot of stitches and one mistake could throw out the whole pattern. I went wrong often, but consistently felt the nudge of the Holy Spirit and was able to check and correct very quickly.
Revel this Easter in the revelation of intimacy that Jesus purchased by His death and resurrection. You have been made alive with Him and can live an exciting new life in Christ.
