DAILY DIRECTIONS
15th Apr 2026
I’ve been thinking a lot about resurrection life and asking questions. What does it look like to live with “Christ in you”? Looking at the book of Acts, I see how the early disciples acted. They knew they were filled with God’s Spirit, listened for direction in daily life, and witnessed miracles, signs and wonders confirming that the resurrected Jesus was alive and continuing to do what He alone can do.
Whilst reading Psalm 84, I looked at verses 5-7 in The Message and read, “How blessed are those in whom you live, whose lives become the roads you travel!” Wherever we go and whatever we are involved in, we carry Jesus who is “the same yesterday, today and forever”. So, are you seeing Him at work through you? As I was listening to the Holy Spirit a few days later, He challenged me with these words:
“Child of mine, your spiritual ears have been opened, and you can hear when you choose to listen. I want to draw you into myself and walk with you along new pathways. You need to listen and find out where we are going, and listen intently to hear the details of the journey. Resist being caught up in activity not initiated by my Spirit. Many good things, if not prompted by my Spirit, can become religious behaviour. Take note and check all you are doing. I want you to enjoy life and have a new zest for living.”
So I have been looking at everything I am giving my time to and checking its motivation, asking, “Has God told me to do this or that?” Jesus declared that He only did what the Father told Him to do or say. He told His disciples that without Him, they could do nothing!
Human resources are limited, and it is easy to become exhausted by activities that have not been initiated by Jesus. I want to be blessed by the Father and know the roads I travel on, carry Jesus, where He has purposed to go. Then I can expect supernatural activity and see His power released.
