RESOURCES
05th Jul 2017
It’s the time of the year when everyone is tired; teachers, stretched to their limits with reports, extra end of term activities, exams, hot weather, short light nights to name a few of the contributory factors. They are others with different jobs, but who feel just the same.
I had been away and delegated the task of watering our plants to our oldest son, who was staying in our home. He faithfully watered all before him, but really had no idea of the amount each plant required. The tomatoes were thriving, but one of my hydrangeas looked decidedly parched and limp, and as I looked at it I felt it reflected in plant form the same tiredness as in many people around me. It was alive but depleted of the resources it needed. Water in abundance was given and in a short time it perked up.
Jeremiah 17:7-8 in the Message talks about being resourced by supernatural life, living water. “But blessed is the man who trusts me, God, the woman who sticks with God. They’re like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers— Never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, Serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season.”
Are you struggling - get soaked. Look to heavenly resources, take a drink of the promised water that Jesus gives, it’s the true antidote for exhaustion. Sit down, ask for heavenly supply, repent if necessary for living with limited human resources, and give all the burdens and weight of responsibility to Father God.
The well of water which will spring up internally will give peace and joy, hope and wisdom, strategy and life will look different than before you received. Let these words of a familiar song become a heart cry:
Let Your living water flow over my soul,
Let your Holy Spirit come and take control,
Of every situation that has troubled my mind,
All my cares and burdens on to you I roll.
Keep hydrated with the Spirit of the Lord.
