PREPARE A WAY BEFORE YOU
09th Mar 2016
Preparation before any event involves looking at the details, seeing possible danger of potential situations that require careful timing or delicate handling - all in order that everything moves smoothly to the planned end.
A few days ago I was talking with a lady who carries a lot of responsibility in her job. She told me that every day is a challenge; there was not much joy, sense of abundant living, or of God being with her on a moment by moment basis.
I was pondering this, and the Lord spoke to me about His often unseen involvement in our daily lives. He prepares life even before we get to live it. He makes straight paths for our feet. He knows that way that we take. He wants us to tread a smooth path, so He clears the obstacles before we get there. He gives His angels commands concerning us to guard us in all our ways, and if we stumble, their job is to catch us. (Psalm 91:12)
The Lord God Almighty is a master of preparation, He plans with a dimension of eternity and doesn’t miss a single detail, so all seeing and concerned He is for us. Ephesians 1:4-6 in The Message says, “Long before he laid down earth’s foundations, he had us in mind, had settled on us as the focus of his love, to be made whole and holy by his love. Long, long ago he decided to adopt us into his family through Jesus Christ. (What pleasure he took on planning this!) He wanted us to enter into the celebration of his lavish gift-giving by the hand of his beloved Son.”
He prepared the path of our salvation before the foundation of the world, nothing surprises Him, He knows all that lies ahead. He is outside time, but actively involved in the tiny detail of our personal lives. He truly is amazing and He plans and prepares for each child of His, knowing us by name and personality. He wants us to live freely and lightly, we may not know the next step, but He certainly does.
Abundant life and spacious places for now, and the ultimate goal to be with Him forever. I find the thought that He has gone before in preparation so I can walk in peace and security really comforting, and knowing He is with me in the nitty gritty with instant wisdom and strength enables me to live in joy.
