INSTRUCTIONS FROM HEAVEN

The pharisees didn’t understand Jesus; they could see the miracles, but couldn’t or wouldn’t see the power source beyond the man in front of them. In John 8, Jesus talks about living in a different reality, of having a divine connection with the Father which causes Him to live in another way. He tells them He is obeying heavenly instructions at all times and that He can do nothing unless it has been initiated by His Father.
John 8:14-18 in The Message says, “You decide according to what you see and touch. I don’t make judgements like that. But even if I did, my judgement would be true because I wouldn’t make it out of the narrowness of my experience but in the largeness of the One who sent me, the Father.” John 8:23 continues, “I’m in touch with what is beyond your horizons. You live in terms of what you see and touch. I’m living on other terms.”
At the beginning of John 8, Jesus declares himself as “The Light of the World” and says “I provide plenty of light to live by.” In Romans 8, Paul having grasped the immensity of all this realises, that for those walking in intimacy with Jesus, filled with His Holy Spirit, there is the same possibility of hearing and acting on heavens instructions.
Romans 8:10-11 in The Message says, “It stands to reason, doesn’t it, if the alive-and-present God who raised Jesus from the dead moves into your life, he’ll do the same thing in you that he did in Jesus, bringing you alive to himself? When God lives and breathes in you (and he does, as surely as he did in Jesus), you are delivered from that dead life. With his Spirit living in you, your body will be as alive as Christ’s!”
We are called to this light giving relationship to do what and when the Father directs. Let us abandon that life sapping human effort and live by the instructions we receive from heaven!
