GOD IS FAITHFUL
02nd Mar 2016
I was praying, together with Joyce and a close friend, we each had circumstances that we were facing in our lives which were very challenging. As I prayed, the phrase “God is faithful” just filled my mind and heart, so that is what I prayed. Nothing changed but faith rose in our hearts and we were filled with complete peace.
I then began to search in my Bible for where those words appear. The first one I found was 1 Corinthians 10:13, “No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so you can stand up under it.”
We usually think of that verse in regard to temptation to sin, but it could just as well mean temptation to fear, or doubt; it might be a dilemma or challenging situation you are going though. Whatever is being thrown at you, whatever the battle may be that you are fighting, remember “God is faithful”.
The second verse I found was 2 Corinthians 1:18 & 20 where it says, “But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not “Yes” and “No”. For no matter how many promises God has made they are “Yes” in Christ.” Here again we have the phrase “God is faithful”, but this time it concerns the promises of God. Many times we are waiting for a promise to be fulfilled and we seem to have prayed so many times and it appears nothing has happened.
It may be temptations and trails that are coming against you, or you may be waiting for promises to be fulfilled, it is at these times that such a simple prayer as, “God is faithful” is all you need to know that you will have the victory, and that the promise will be fulfilled.
