ARE YOU FLYING OR ARE YOU GROUNDED?
25th Mar 2015
When you are boarding a flight, and settle down with a plane load of passengers, do you ever wonder how the aircraft weighing so many tons of steel and plastic is ever going to leave the ground and get into the air? We have become so used to flying we probably don’t even think about it. However, as the plane accelerates down the runway something amazing happens, the law of flight overcomes the law of gravity.
Paul said, “Through Christ Jesus the law of the Spirit of life set me free from the law of sin and death.” (Romans 8:2) When we come to faith in Jesus and receive the resurrection life of Jesus, something amazing happens in our lives. The law of sin and death is defeated and we are set free to live a new life. We are meant to be flying, not to be grounded.
In Christ Jesus, we are new creations, the old has gone and the new has come. We are seated in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus in order that in the coming ages he might show us the incomparable riches of his grace. We have been “..... given authority to trample on snakes and scorpions and to overcome all the power of the enemy, nothing will harm us.” (Luke 10:19)
We hear the words of Jesus, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.” And also Paul’s words to Timothy to assure him that he could live with joy and victory, “You have not been given a spirit of fear, but of power, love and self-control.”
Life’s circumstances and the devices of the enemy seek to keep us grounded in fear, anxiety, sickness and discouragement. But we have been designed to fly, to daily be filled with the Holy Spirit, and to live in peace, health and victory.
So reach out today for a fresh infilling of the Holy Spirit, throw of the shackles of the world’s pull of gravity and fly!
