FAITHFUL GOD
17th Apr 2019
Over the years I have kept a journal. I listen to what God is saying to me personally, and I also record some of the major things I am talking to Him about; the questions I am expecting answers to, the instructions I need when involved in specific situations.
I’m not so good and looking back and giving thanks for all the Lord has done! Today, I looked at what was going on this time last year, and I am very thankful that out of much sadness and pain God has triumphed over His enemies and brought comfort and healing into several situations.
This time last year two dear friends were received into the Lord’s presence leaving two devastated widows and all the implications of sudden death. Both ladies have known the Lord’s comfort and closeness, His provision, His amazing love and care for widows and fatherless. He has wiped away many tears and allowed them to experience divine joy.
Another friend was diagnosed with breast cancer, and today is through all the necessary treatment and full of praise for all that the Lord has done for her. A house belonging to a family trust needed to be sold; there were many setbacks, but it is now under new ownership. Another reason to thank and glorify God.
Other friends were faced with unjust dealing with a mortgage company, threatened with eviction and treated abominably - they kept faith in a faithful God, and as I write they have been rescued and seen God fight for them and bringing them into freedom.
None of these situations have been without pain or uncertainty, but looking back we can see what only God could have done and we are thankful. Deuteronomy 20:2-3 says, “Hear, O Israel, today you are going into battle against your enemies. Do not be fainthearted or afraid; do not be terrified of give way to panic before them. For the Lord your God is the one who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies to give you victory.”
Today, there are still unresolved situations and battles to win; but we press on, knowing we are not alone. We have a great God, able to do the impossible and One who never leaves us and is fighting for us and fighting to win.
Look back and be thankful, look forward and be expectant. Stand firm today experiencing God’s love and faithfulness.
