CHRIST IN US
20th Nov 2013
Jesus was constantly facing opposition from the religious Jews of his day. On one occasion recorded in John 10:31, as they picked up rocks to stone Him, he questions them. “I have made a present to you from the Father of a great many good actions. For which of these acts do you stone me?”
On another occasion He had explained that He only did what the Father told him to do and say. John 5:19-20 in the Message says, “The Son can’t independently do a thing, only what He sees the Father doing. What the Father does, the Son does.”
John 10:38 says, “Even though you do not believe me, believe the miracles, that you know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in the Father.”
In the Old Testament, Daniel is faced with an impossible task of interpreting a dream which disturbed King Nebuchadnezzar, the substance of which he could not remember! Daniel acknowledged his total inadequacy and went to God for understanding.
God showed him the dream and gave him the interpretation. Later, Nebuchadnezzar, this heathen King, when speaking about Daniel, says, “...non of the wise men in my kingdom can interpret the dream. But you can, because the spirit of the holy gods is in you.” (Daniel 4:18) Daniel certainly saw the reality of God at work.
So what about you and me? We claim as Christians to have “Christ in us”, is there any evidence? Can you say, “The Father and I are one”? Are you collecting gifts from God to give to those in need around you?
There is so much need and sadness, confusion and anger in our world. Ask God today, what He desires to do to change the situations and meet the needs of those you care for? He is willing and able, but is looking for those through whom He can pour His love, power and miracles.
