BLESSED

A friend of mine when asked, “How are you?” always replies, “I’m blessed.” And we are too. Blessed because we belong to the family of God. Blessed because we will never be rejected, ignored or abandoned by our Heavenly Father. He means to carry out all the plans He has for us, and even when we mess-up and divert from His ways, He will bring us back so He can fulfil the plans He has for us, and return us to the path of blessing.
2 Thessalonians 1:11-12 in The Message says, “We pray for you all the time - pray that our God will make you fit for what he’s called you to be, pray that he’ll fill your good ideas and acts of faith with his own energy so that it all amounts to something.”
Sometimes we forget how much He has done for us, so it is good to - “Count your blessings, name them one by one, and it will surprise you what the Lord has done.” When you remember and get thankful, your spirit lifts and you look forward with hope and assurance.
He wants to bless you more than your capacity to receive. Listen to what he said to David through Nathan the prophet, “I did this and this.....and if that wasn’t enough, I’d have gladly thrown in much more.” (2 Samuel 12:7)
Today be actively thankful for all Father God has done in your life. Stay close and receive His blessing on you and your family, and all you have contact with. Be conscious that you not only are blessed, but you can be a blessing to others today.
“The blessing of the Lord makes rich and he adds no sorrow with it.” Proverbs 10:22
