DWELLING PLACE
12th Nov 2025
I found myself singing an old hymn this morning -
Glorious things of thee are spoken
Zion, city of our God
He whose word cannot be broken
Formed thee for his own abode
On the rock of ages founded
What can shake thy sure repose
With salvation’s wall surrounded
Thou may’st smile at all thy foes
As I was singing, I felt a new awe at the fact that our Almighty, Magnificent, Wonderful, Father God has chosen to live in you and me, and has chosen us as His dwelling place. The greatness of this statement hit me afresh, and I have been pondering on the enormity of “Christ in you, the hope of glory”. (Colossians 1:27)
While reading John 8, I saw how Jesus lived knowing that Father God had sent Him, and how He spoke and guided everything He did.
In John 8:23, in The Message, Jesus says, “I am in touch with what is beyond your horizons. You live in terms of what you can see and touch. I’m living on other terms.” In John 8:29, it says, “The one who sent me is with me; he has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases Him.”
Stop for a moment and ponder on “The dwelling of God is with man, and He will live with them. They will be His people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.” (Revelation 21:3)
