YOU ARE HERE TO BEAR FRUIT
11th Jan 2012
“…. to reproduce lavish life on earth and live bountifully!" (Genesis 9:7 The Message) and you have all that is needed in order to do what God has declared.
Have you ever wondered how the animals in Noah’s day came into the Ark? There is no evidence of sweat and toil, of rounding them up; it appears they just came. Could it be that they had come under the authority given to Noah by God? Did he speak and say “Come!” and they had to respond. Adam had been granted authority over every living creature and understood the power of the spoken word of command. (Genesis 1:26)
In Mark 11:23 Jesus illustrates this principle, “I tell you the truth, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart but believes what he says will happen, it will be done for him.”
You and I are called to rule over our circumstances and change them. We often allow all sorts of things to bog us down and waste our time. Choose to rule and use the authority you have been given. It may seem a little strange to command winds and tell fruit trees to wither and die, but it is the lifestyle of Jesus we are called to follow.
A friend in Sweden had a large unfruitful cherry tree in her garden – she spoke to it in the name of Jesus saying, “I will give you one more year and if you fail to produce fruit you will be cut down.” I was there the summer the tree responded to her word of command, and I have never before seen such an abundant harvest – the tree still stands!
Our cat went missing and after much searching, tears and concern I told the children, “We are going to command it to come home now!” I did also ask for a few angels to chase it home! Less than 10 minutes later a very out of breath cat appeared – it had heard the voice of authority.
Don’t allow circumstances to dominate, change them by using the power and authority given to you.
